Our vision is peace at work.

Our mission is empowering HR professionals to approach internal workplace conflict with clarity and confidence.

We offer two courses to support this:

  1. Challenging Workplace Relationships: Skills for Attaining Peace at Work and Peace of Mind
  2. Mediation Fundamentals for the HR Professional

Challenging Workplace Relationships: Skills for Attaining Peace at Work and Peace of Mind focuses on how we can get along with those that we consider difficult!

And that lays the foundation for the second focus, which is helping others to address and resolve their conflicts using mediation skills: Mediation Fundamentals for the HR Professional

Both these courses support development of a number of vital Human Resource competencies as recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management, but focus on the competency of human relationship management:

“In order to develop this competency, HR professionals should maintain productive interpersonal relationships and demonstrate aptitude to help others to do the same. Healthy interpersonal relationships among employees at an organization contribute positively to employee and organizational success.” (Summary of the SHRM Relationship Management Competency)

Each year, John Ford coaches students one on one in respect of either course. The focus is on taking your interpersonal relationship management and mediation skills to the next level and addressing real life challenges successfully over a defined period of time.


Online Courses

Both courses are available to be taken online as a self-study or with guided coaching. Both earn professional recertification credits..

For the duration of the online courses with guided coaching there is a weekly webinar, a weekly coaching call, a weekly discussion forum, a weekly practice exercise and constant support and guidance. The weekly webinar and coaching calls are made available for later replay.

LIVE WORKSHOPS

As convenient and as powerful as online training is, when it comes to skill development, especially of high level emotional intelligence skills like mediation, then there is no better way to learn than with a community of learners being directed by a subject matter expert, who knows how to transfer skills.

Both courses are offered through live workshops. Challenging Workplace Relationships: Skills for Attaining Peace at Work and Peace of Mind is delivered over 3 days. Mediation Fundamentals for the HR Professional is longer, and delivered over 4 days.

During the Mediation Fundamentals for the HR Professional workshop you will develop and get approval for your mediator’s opening statement, you will be coached while mediating realistic workplace scenarios. You will discover the secrets of professional mediators.

This option is also available to organizations that want to train a group of their HR professionals in house.
